Itinerary

Itinerary:

Day 1

8:30 AM Rendezvous at false creek, fisherman's wharf, Vancouver
Introductions, gear storage, safety discussion.
9:30 AM Depart False Creek, snacks and lunch on board, cross Strait of Georgia,
hands-on lessons
4:30 PM Arrival at overnight destination (e.g. Sylva Bay on Gabriola Island, Pirate's Cove Marine Park on DeCourcy Island)
5:00 PM Boat snugged away, private time to read, explore ashore
7:00 PM Dinner, social time

Day 2

8:30 AM Breakfast
9:30 AM Classroom time, prepare for departure
10:30 AM Underway, on water-skill development
12:30 PM Lunch stop or meal underway
4:30 PM Arrival at evening destination (e.g. Fulford Harbor on Thetis Island, Ladysmith Harbor or Chemainus on Vancouver Island)
5:00 PM Boat snugged away, review, private time
7 :00 PM Dinner, social time, study

Day 3

8:30 AM Breakfast
9:30 AM Classroom time, prepare for departure
10:30 AM Underway, on water-skill development
12:30 PM Lunch stop or meal underway
4:30 PM Arrival at evening destination (e.g. Maple Bay, Burgoyne Bay, Newcastle Island Marine Park)
5:00 PM Boat snugged away, review, private time
7 :00 PM Dinner, social time, exploration ashore

Day 4

8:30 AM Breakfast
9:30 AM Classroom time, prepare for departure
10:30 AM Underway, on water-skill development
12:30 PM Lunch stop or meal underway - we will cross the Strait of Georgia either on day 4 or day 5)
4:30 PM Arrival at evening destination (e.g. Gibsons, Gambier Island, Bowen Island
5:00 PM Boat snugged away, review
7 :00 PM Dinner, social time, written exam of 'ashore knowledge'.

Day 5

8:30 AM Breakfast
9:30 AM Classroom time, prepare for departure
10:30 AM Underway, on water-skills examination - students sail the vessel as a team
12:30 PM Lunch stop or meal underway - we will cross the Strait of Georgia either on day 4 or day 5)
4:30 PM Return to Vancouver
5:00 PM Boat snugged away
5:30 PM Graduation, farewells and departure
